Orthotic Therapy

Orthotic therapy is the use of a controlled or accommodative device to either correct or support the foot during static or dynamic movement. They can be made with various different materials into many different shapes or sizes, each with a specific property in mind to maximise the therapeutic benefit for every individual case.

Orthotic consultations involve:

  • Comprehensive biomechanical assessments
By testing your joints, muscles and taking specific measurements, this information will help us size up the orthotic we need to manufacture, detect any structural or functional issues that will need to be addressed or resolved prior to dispensing the orthotic
  • Visual Gait Analysis
Here, your Podiatrist will assess your walking, identifying areas in need of control, deflection of pressure or support.
  • 3D Foot Imaging Scan
Using a state-of-the-art 3D colour scanner, we are able to accurately translate your foot into a digital form, bypassing the mess of using plaster and water, keeping your experience as fast, clean and satisfying as possible.

After the initial appointment, it will take up to 2 weeks to manufacture and dispense your orthotic. An inclusive follow up appointment will be booked where your Podiatrist will check for last minute fitting issues. Therefore, please bring along the shoes you’d wear the orthotics in the most! Along with any other shoe you’d like to fit the orthotic in.
